Two Key Canadian Map Stamps

Exhibitor: George Henshilwood Award: 87; Gold and Ferris Trophy
Description: The introduction of the 1d Empire rate was an important change, encouraging mail between various Empire countries. James Mulock, Canada's Postmaster General at the time, was involved in the final lobbying and was instrumental in producing a special Canadian stamp to mark the new rate which commenced on 25 December. Hence, the map stamp is often called the world's first Christmas stamp. .
