Canadian Flag and Machine Cancels 1896 - 1902

Description: A study of the early trials undertaken by Canada Post with machine cancelling devices between 1896 and 1902. The trials took place in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Hamilton. Many of these early cancels feature flags and many can be found on attractive advertising covers.
